Tradition has of course changed over the years, so you may not be using one or more of these details for your own event....but if you are, here are some helpful tips about where and how to set the table properly.

DIY :: Framed Photo Table Numbers

I've always loved this idea for table numbers at a wedding reception! While having your engagement photos done, have some photos taken holding different number signs. Have them printed either in color or black and white, depending on your style, and frame them to use on each table as the table number. Work with your photographer to get creative with the photos and incorporate your style, theme, colors and personality!

DIY :: Chalkboard Table Numbers

Chalkboard table numbers are such a fun way to add a personal touch to your tables...and why stop at numbers? You could use these for table names, quotes, or other signage for any wedding or event. You can change up the shapes too....hearts, squares, circles, ovals, etc... I love that these are so easy to create and look so cute when they're done!

What You’ll Need:

– Chalkboard Paint
– Chalkboard Marker or chalk
– Paintbrush
– Wooden Shapes
– Dowels
– Glue

Instructions:

1. The first thing you need to do is determine the shape of your “number” and the length of your dowel. Spotlight sells “Heart wands” with the dowel and heart shape already attached, but if you need to do these yourself, or want to try a different shape you’ll need to purchase your own shapes and glue them onto the dowel.

2. Ensuring your shape is smooth, paint on the chalkboard paint as instructed. The makers recommend two thin coats.

3. Leave to dry and cure for six hours.

4. You can use chalk or chalkboard marker for this project. Picked up a chalkboard marker and I have to say, if you are transporting your numbers, then the marker and it’s sticking power is definitely the better option!

5. Write your number, name or quote onto your “chalk board”.

6. To help your table numbers stand up in your vases or vessels, stick them into a stack of florist’s foam.

DIY :: Glitter Table Numbers

Add some sparkle and glam to your wedding reception with these glitzy glitter table numbers.  Dazzle your guests as you guide them to their assigned seating – guests will have no trouble finding their way to their tables with these sparkly little numbers!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Use a stencil to cut numbers out of Styrofoam(R) sheets. Blast the entire number thoroughly with spray glue, then apply a heavy dusting of silver glitter until all of the foam is entirely covered in glitter.

Use hot glue to mount the bottom of each number to a round 6 inch cake board with a silver covering (the boards are available with the silver coverings and can be purchased from any dealer of cake decorating supplies.

That’s it – you’re done!  Its super-simple but they’ll look amazing!
