Happy Anniversary Marge & Henry!

A few years back I had the pleasure of working with this amazing family to plan, decorate and coordinate a 20th Anniversary party with a Christmas theme for Marge & Henry. Such a heartwarming event! We booked a live musician and they had the sweetest dance! Still gives me the feels every time I look back through the photos! Happy Anniversary Marge and Henry, wishing them and their family all the best this holiday season!

Needless to say, I have quite the collection of Halloween ideas pinned on my Pinterest boards!

Planning Tips :: Reasons to Hire a Coordinator for Your Event

Some are aware of this and some aren't, but there is a definite difference between an event planner and an event coordinator. Whether it's a wedding, a birthday party, a charity fundraiser, a dinner party, a corporate picnic....you want your well laid out plans to be carried out correctly, and you don't want to miss the amazing party you planned because you were too busy behind the scenes!

In short, a planner puts all the details together and makes all of the needed bookings and schedules, while the coordinator makes sure all of the plans are carried out accordingly just as they were intended. Even if you're a bride and have planned your own wedding, it is still very beneficial to look into hiring a coordinator to carry out your hard work and your detailed plans.

As a professional wedding planner and coordinator, I coordinated my own wedding against my better judgement! I wanted to hire an outside coordinator, but I let the hubby-to-be talk me into handling it myself with my bridesmaids. I ended up in the lawn outside in hair curlers and a bathrobe, makeup half done, telling the rental company where to set up the chairs, telling the DJ where to set up the music area, fielding phone calls from other vendors trying to set up at the reception....and I just kept thinking....I should be inside sipping a mimosa and getting ready!

The quick short list of what WE do when we coordinate a wedding or event is:
  • Make sure all setup is accounted for and complete before guest arrival
  • Coordinate with all vendors on wedding day or event day to confirm arrival times, what they are responsible for, deliveries, payments due, etc...
  • Oversee and handle any of the setup and tear down of the event making sure your personal items make it home with you and rental items make it back to where they were rented from.
  • Act as "personal assistant" to bride, groom & family to handle any specific things you need (if not a wedding, then the host of the event).
  • Make sure the party and the entire day stays on schedule - - from deliveries to ceremony to dinner being served to your grand exit...all scheduled details for the day are watched over and made happen on time.
  • Provide an emergency kit to cover any mishaps that may happen throughout the day; medicines, band aids, clear nail polish for pantyhose runs, hair spray, pins and a sewing kit...it's best to be covered for anything that happens!
  • ALL THIS is taken care of by a professional while you and your family sit back stress-free and just enjoy the day with no worries!

Don't let the stress of wedding day or event day get to you - - you took the time to plan out a wonderful party, so plan to enjoy it with your family and your guests!

Vendor Spotlight :: Brookielynn's Bungalow

My friend from school is a totally amazingly talented woman! Brooklyn Calloway is the owner of Brookielynn's Bungalow. Not only does she create and sell gorgeous décor items and furniture items, but she teaches workshops on how to do your own décor or furniture projects, and she hosts parties for groups who want a fun experience for bridal shower, bachelorette party, birthday party, or even just a girls night out!

I got to tour her amazing workshop when I went to Frisco to see her today and pickup my sign. I can't begin to describe how impressed I was! She's got it going on! I'm going to go back soon and do a glitter session and I'm so excited I can't stand it! I'll be sure to take photos during that session to share!

Follow her, check her out, see what she has to offer for your home and special events. Amazing work!!

DIY :: In Sickness + In Health Drinking Favors

I saw this totally cute DIY post on Something Turquoise and I HAD to share!!

You might be making a vow of “In Sickness and In Health” but your guests sure don’t have to! Give them a laugh while making their drinking experience the best it can be during your wedding or other wedding related events. One bottle is meant for pre-drinking and one bottle is for post-drinking. Perfect for your bachelorette party, your welcome bags or even for handing out to your guests on their way home. These cutie little handmade favors are sure to impress your friends and family, and show them just how much you care!

Did you know that taking 2 Vitamin B pills a few hours before you drink, actually helps prevent a hangover!? It has to do with something about the B replacing a chemical that the alcohol drains from your brain… a nurse told me that one time and it actually works!

SUPPLIES:
  • Mini Water Bottles
  • 8.5″ x 11″ White Cardstock
  • 1.5″ x 2″ Clear Plastic Bag
  • 1″ Circle Punch
  • Scoring Board
  • Vitamin B
  • Twine
  • Advil
  • Tape

Download our free files at the end of the post and print onto 8.5″ x 11″ white cardstock. If you’d like, you can score the hang tags across the line provided using a scoring board. This adds a professional looking fold to your tag, then cut out each one.

Using a 1″ circle punch, punch out the gray hole in the tag and then trim a notch at the top, so you can put it around the bottle of water.

Fill each 1.5″ x 2″ plastic bag with two Vitamin B (any super complex will do) and two Advil.

On the backside of the tag, tape on each little baggie – ugh, aren’t they SO cute!?

Add the tags and finish with a twine bow!

How To Gift These Favors:

  • They are ideal for your bachelorette party!
  • Perfect to have in the room on the morning of your wedding
  • Put them in your hotel welcome bags
  • Have them out near the bar at your reception
  • Hand out the Advil ones as your guests leave!
