1. Pick A Seat, Not A Side
In time honored tradition, there is a bride's side and a groom's side at the wedding ceremony. Nowadays, its acceptable to mix the guests and allow them to "pick a seat, not a side". You can let guests know by having an adorable sign at the entrance to the ceremony telling them to sit wherever they'd like!
2. Family or Friends Reading Special Words
This can be a scripture, a poem, a writing by the family member, a favorite quote or saying, or any other special words you'd like to be said by a special person at your wedding.
3. Groom's Grand Entrance
The bride isn't the only one who can make an entrance! The groom can be escorted in to his own fanfare song with parents or other family. Wonderful start to the ceremony! The groom can also have attention moments throughout the reception as well...do something special and make his garter toss something to remember!
You can personalize your words of love! This is a personal and romantic way to promise to love one another forever!

Have a buffet of your favorite dessert(s) rather than wedding cake. Make it personal and make it what you love! Or you can do it both ways....have a smaller cake to keep the tradition of cutting and photos....then you can have sheet cakes in the back to serve to guests (if you wish), or provide them with a dessert buffet to enjoy!
6. Include your pet.
Pets are part of the family, so of course they should be included in a special day like wedding day! They can carry rings, flowers, signs...so many fun and cute ways to include the family pet!
7. Make it your own!
Are you an Aggie? Incorporate that into your wedding cake somehow. Is ice cream your favorite thing in the world? ? Have it made and served at your reception for the wow factor. Do you travel a lot for entertainment? Share your travel stories and pictures as table numbers. Take each detail into consideration and really make it personal and your own!
