Brides carrying flowers on wedding day is a tradition dating back to Ancient Rome. Brides carried or wore floral garlands because they believed that flowers signified new beginnings, fertility, warded off evil spirits.... and to be honest, they just helped to cover up body odor and make everything smell more pleasant. :)
